Ambassadors
The ambassadors are a passionate group of volunteers with an
important mission: to welcome members and guests at Shawnee Chamber of Commerce events. They
do this by facilitating coffees,
ribbon cuttings and grand openings, business after hours and more. This group meets once
a month.
Annual Dinner
If you enjoy planning parties, try planning the biggest event
of the year for the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce! This committee
is so important because it takes more than the staff to pull
off a monumental event like this. Creativity and fun are all
required to serve with this great group of volunteers that
help plan the event program, entertainment, food, auction and
more.
Business Expo
This committee is responsible for planning and organizing the annual Business Expo, providing the opportunity for Chamber members to showcase their products and services to the community. Committee members help secure exhibitors and sponsors, and help promote the event.
A limited number of booths are available for this popular event.
Golf
A great opportunity for corporate sponsorship, committee participation
and volunteer opportunities. You don’t need to be a golfer
to get excited about this annual sell-out event. Golf committee members help secure players and sponsors, recruit volunteers, and more.
Governmental Affairs
These members have a strong interest in developing the annual
legislative platform of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce and
enjoy working with our elected delegation for the best interest
of business and education. Representing business interests, this group helps develop the Chamber's annual legislative platform and meets with elected officials during the session.
Member Champion
This committee is focused on helping better connect with members. Committee members call and email members, invite them to events, make introductions to other Chamber members, explain relevant marketing opportunities, etc. Newly formed, this committee is initially focused on engaging first-year members and meets monthly. This is a great opportunity for you to build and strengthen relationships with other Chamber members while gaining visibility for your business!
Shawnee Tomorrow Leadership Steering
Volunteers review and evaluate the program each
year to support and plan the eight sessions on leadership, city government/economic development, community involvement, state government, health care, county government, education and regionalism. Must be a graduate of the Shawnee Tomorrow Leadership Program.
TRC
This is a great opportunity to become directly involved with more than 50 volunteers working together to build a strong financial base for the Chamber. Volunteers recruit new members and promote the Chamber's marketing opportunities to help members grow their business. Total Resource Campaign is kicked off in the Fall each year and gives business members the advantage to plan ahead for
next year’s sponsorships and marketing programs with
the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce.
